M

Hello, I'm M! I've been studying Japanese for almost four years, and it was my minor in college! I've been wanting to start translating content from my favorite games for a while, so I'm glad I could get my friends together and start this team ♡ My favorite characters are Mithra and Murr, and I absolutely adore so many of the stories containing them. Excited to watch this grow!

Annie

Hi, I’m Annie! I love aizou :3 I’ve been learning Japanese for just over eleven years now, and I got my start via an interest in fashion-related content. The bulk of my translation experience in years past is 2.5D and 3D related, but I’m excited to grow that repertoire to 2D with Mahoyaku. It’s nice to meet you!

Ash

Hi, I’m Ash! My favourite characters are Owen and SnoWhi — but I really just love all the Northies, migrators included ♡ I’ve been self-taught in Japanese since 2017, and in 2022 I started taking formal classes at university. I got into translating as a serious hobby thanks to Hypnosis Mic, so the bulk of my experience is actually with song lyrics, but I’ve also done a lot of work on small things in Mahoyaku already, and I’ve also dabbled in manga translation + typesetting + cleaning. Happy to meet you all!

Mio

Hi I'm mio! My favs are Cain and Shylock. I'm Half-Japanese and lived in Japan for a few years when I was younger. Although I didn't pursue formal JP education after moving, I speak it often at home/with friends and a lot of my interests require me to use the language daily. I have translated songs and interviews in past fandoms, but I feel my English vocabulary isn't adequate enough to keep the colourful speech habits a lot of Mahoyaku characters have intact, so my main role here is to check the translations are accurate to the JP dialogue. Happy to be on the team!
